According to data released by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, bankruptcy filings are down 25.4 percent in March 2012 for the state of Hawaii, as compare to the same month a year prior. A total of 267 cases were filed, marking the 13th consecutive month of decreases for the state. Honolulu County had a decline at 25.6 percent with 163 cases filed. Maui County decreased by 22.2 percent with 49 cases filed. Hawaii County (Big Island) decreased by 8.5 percent with 43 cases filed. Kauai county had a 58.6 percent decrease with 12 cases filed.
