Alaska Airlines has just announced that they will be adding nonstop daily service from Oakland and San Jose California. These routes will increase Alaska’s daily flights to the Hawaiian Islands to 22 from a total of eight cities. Vice President of Marketing for Alaska Airlines, Joe Sprague, stated, “Honolulu is the vibrant epicenter of Hawaii, with everything from historic landmarks, treasured monuments, a flourishing arts and culture scene and world-class beaches.”
According to the Hawaii Tourism Authority, the new routes created by Alaska Airlines will help to add an estimated $118 million to visitor spending for the state and $12.8 million in annual tax revenue.
