Allegiant Air has announced that they will be offering a new nonstop service between Los Angeles, California and Honolulu, Hawaii. Allegiant Travel Co. President, Andrew Levy, stated, "For just over a year we have been offering travelers convenient, low-cost service to Hawaii, as well as great deals on hotel, car and show reservations. We will soon offer Oahu residents great deals on vacations to Los Angeles." Allegiant is offering twice-a-week service with an introductory price of $99 one-way. Currently, Hawaiian Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Airlines and United Airlines offer the same direct route between Los Angeles and Honolulu.
President and CEO of the Hawaii Tourism Authority, Mike McCartney, believes that the new service offered by Allegiant will provide an additional $26 million in visitor spending for the Hawaiian Islands and an additional $3 million in tax revenue.
