Allegiant Air to Come to Hawaii

Las Vegas-based Allegiant Air has announced that they will be starting nonstop flights to Honolulu from Las Vegas and Fresno, California starting in June of this year.  Furthermore, the company stated that additional mainland cities will be added by the end of the year.  Andrew Levy, Allegiant President, stated, “We wanted to start out in a modest way.  We expect to offer Hawaii to other markets in a very significant way starting later this year.”  Introductory fares as low as $174 each way can now be purchased until April 30, provided that travel be made before November 13, 2012.
According to Mike McCartney, the CEO of the Hawaii Tourism Authority, visitors from these Allegiant flights will spend approximately $29.8 million in the islands and will generate $3.25 million in state and local taxes.
