According to a report released by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, there were only 185 bankruptcy cases filed in June 2012 for the Hawaiian Islands. This represented a 33 percent decrease from the 276 cases filed in June 2011 and marked the lowest bankruptcy level in nearly four years. Honolulu County had a 28.2 percent decline in a year with 163 cases. Maui County had a 53.8 percent decline with 30 cases. Hawaii County (Big Island of Hawaii) had a 6.7 percent decline with 28 cases and Kauai County had a 44.4 percent decline with 10 cases.
